Alabaster's Peruvian Starrdust

Birthdate: 8/31/2005
Heritage: Full Peruvian
Registration: ARI Registered
ARI #: 1219890
Color: Pattern
Stud Name: Alta’s Ultima of PVA

Type: Female Huacaya
Status: Bred / Unproven

Description: We can't say enough about this young female. She is a beautiful and unique true appaloosa that stands out in the herd not only for her style, but also for her fleece uniformity, brightness and outstanding staple length. Her fleece simply shimmers! When processed into yarn it is rose-grey in color and looks and feels like suri with exceptional brightness and drape.

The Alabaster / Starburst combination has imparted a very unique and truly spectacular fleece style in this special beauty. Everything we hoped for in this combination has been realized and then some.

She is now bred to Alta's Ultima of PVA. This combination of Hemingway & Accoyo genetics - so highly sought after for producing world class fleece characteristics - nearly guarantees a "Next Generation" fleece on an alpaca with flawless confirmation.

Dusty also comes with a breed back to the DCF herdsire of your choice next year.

Alabasters first crias are now on the ground and they are an impressive lot. It has become very clear that his legacy will undoubtedly be his ability to impart increased staple length on his progeny. As predicted, the cria fleeces are long and bright, and at the 120 day old mark are from 20 to 40% longer than their half siblings. Our goal is a 20% increase in clip yield of his progeny through increased staple length over the dam – Alabaster is well on his way to doing just that.
