"The
longer I live the more beautiful life becomes"

Welcome
to Dougherty
Creek
Argyle, Wisconsin

When we stood at
the very top of the hill and decided "this was the one", we
had no way of knowing life was about to take us on such an amazing
journey. Determined to bring this tired old 35 acre homestead in
southwestern Wisconsin back to life, we imagined a small working farm,
diverse in its products, but specializing in something with the
potential to be profitable. Early on we discovered alpacas and realized
their potential for diversifying revenue on small acreages. They have
fit into our landscape, business plan, and our hearts perfectly. Over
the years we have become committed alpaca breeders, dedicated to both
improving the North American alpaca and its fleece and (in our opinion -
most importantly) creating a viable alpaca fiber industry to carry this
unique agricultural model into the future.
Five years have passed and we are slowly
reaching our restoration and business goals. Our goals for the next five
years include greater sustainability through more intensive pasture
management, a controlled multi-species grazing experiment to clean up
and restore a five acre native oak savanna, and of course continuing to
share our little piece of paradise with one Gods special creatures –
our alpacas.
